Colworth Science Park is host to some major world-class Life Science companies and corporations such as Unilever’s Global R&D Facilities, Home to Lipton’s teas, and Firmenich, the world’s largest privately-owned fragrance and taste company). With a goal to achieve high sustainability targets at the campus, Harrison Street and its joint venture partner Pioneer Group have prioritized many initiatives to improve efficiency, reduce carbon, and support tenant wellness throughout the campus.

To meet Harrison Street’s Sustainability and Net Zero Carbon emissions targets, Colworth was the first site in the portfolio to agree to a 100% renewable Corporate Power Purchase Agreement for the campus’s electricity consumption. Further to this the site diverts 100% of its waste away from landfills and utilises smart metering to monitor energy usage and improve efficiencies. As part of the Queen’s Green Canopy Initiative, a total of 500 new trees were planted throughout 51 acres of land.

The campus has recently achieved a BREEAM Very Good rating for the newly constructed AMF Facility and a Fitwel 2-Star rating for the site. To achieve these highly commendable achievements items such as air quality was validated by on-site testing, and tenant health and well-being are evidenced through a central hub community work and amenity spaces, healthy food offerings, exercise classes, fitness facilities,  cycle storage, and on-site health fairs.

As an ongoing commitment to tenants and the wider community and local wildlife,  Colworth operates various sports clubs, photography clubs, and pop-up shops. The Park hosts regular fundraisers and initiatives to support local food banks and animal shelters and has a close relationship with the Wildlife Trust to increase biodiversity and encourage wildlife to flourish around the parklands.
